Black and Tan

There are a few regular image searches that I do for design purposes on Google. Very pedestrian and tame, like flowers and paisleys, and certain geometric shapes.  One particular clip art vector design comes up all the time and I see it, recognize it in its usual blandness, and then move on.

This morning, I did my regular search (first one of the new year) and found The Bland Floral Paisley again.  Imagine my surprise when I saw that this time, it was a huge tattoo.  And not just a huge tattoo.  A huge butt tattoo.  Covering the entire cheek.

I'm not sure whether I've somehow underestimated this design's power, or whether someone else has.

Our friends had a party.  I fell in love with their battery powered record player.

It sounded decent, even in the cold drizzle.

But also, my ears were getting numb.

I have pretty sensitive hearing, but my verbal acuity isn't so great.  I am one of those annoying people that asks you to repeat things because I can't figure out, even with context clues, what the fuck you just said.  It makes me look stupid, but I can't help it. This also means that I am really terrible at deciphering song lyrics, which is like torture, since I'm passionate about music and I want to know everything I can about songs I like.  Sometimes decades go by before I figure out what a song is really saying.  It's embarrassing.

Anyway, I was just listening to a song and it sounded like, "...time to bleed the chocolate goat..."

I'm not even sure I want to know what the real lyrics are now, because those are some pretty kickass lyrics.

My husband is the shit!  I asked if he could make me a pocket ukulele, and the floodgates opened...and he comes up with all kinds of amazingness.  He is working on several, but this one is made from a 4-inch Tonka mini lunchbox.  The tuning pegs will be zither and the wood will get a light stain.  He even branded it with his Plutonian symbol, homemade from a paper clip.  My Tonkalele is going to be about 16 inches long and dyn-o-mite!
